Protecting Florida Together is the hub for a state-based effort for more accountability, transparency, and collaboration involving public data accessibility and education related to environmental issues in the state of Florida.

The website features active grants applications, news timeline updates, a robust education center, and more. The centerpiece is the award-winning Water Quality Data Map- a statewide interactive map leveraging Google Maps technology and fueled by dynamic live water quality data from across the state of Florida.
The water equality map was designed and built leveraging the Google Maps API. Layering in and displaying complex data provided by The Florida Department of Environment Protection, the interactive map allows visitors to navigate the state of Florida at various levels of zoom to view area water quality status, waterbody nutrient trends, restoration projects, harmful blue-green algae detections, red tide detections, and other environmental issues of concern anywhere in the state of Florida.
